We are looking to hire a skilled Soil Health Specialist II with expertise in agronomy research, data analysis, and soil health. This role will be responsible for assisting in data mining and analytic projects to derive actionable insights on soil health from multiple different datasets, as well as collecting and analyzing soil and crop samples. The ideal candidate would have a passion for regenerative agriculture and experience with a variety of statistical techniques.

This role will report directly to Amy Rial, Senior Regenerative Agriculture and Data Analysis Manager, and includes hands-on job training, the opportunity for cross-training, diversified professional development, and career growth within MyLand.

This full-time, hybrid position is in Phoenix, AZ and includes traveling to field sites regionally with occasional weekend or extended hours.

Responsibilities
• Contribute to all aspects of agronomy research including investigating the specific needs of agricultural crops and using this information to tailor the benefits of algae to each customer's unique scenarios
• Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
• Collaborate with the team on grant proposals, including organizing, writing, and providing data results
• Create and maintain written and verbal protocols (SOPs)
• Design and implement experimental field plots and grow tent cultures
• Maintain and enter data in data sheets, computer programs, logs, task lists, and calendars
• Process samples from field, pot cultures, and laboratory
• Conduct statistical analyses, generate reports, and reporting information
• Create and maintain written and verbal safety protocols
• Support internal trials and experiments
• Professionally represent MyLand to colleagues, team members, contractors, visitors, customers, and the public by wearing appropriate clothing and maintaining a clean work environment

Skills & Qualifications
• BS degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Soil Science, or related field
• 3-5 years of agriculture related research experience, specifically crop research
• A minimum of 3 years of statistical analyses using Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and PowerBi
• Proficiency in statistical software such as JMP, R, Minitab, SAS
• A strong understanding of plant life cycles
• Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, viewing a computer screen, microscope, and extensive reading
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to switch tasks efficiently
• Exposure to chemicals typically used in agriculture, microalgae production and laboratory analyses
• Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills
• Strong research, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work autonomously or in a team
• Ability to work outside under high heat, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and/or sit at desk for extended periods
• Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Travel up to 50% of the time
• Valid driver’s license

• Passion for regenerative agriculture as well as soil and ecosystem restoration
• Experience with manufacturing and electrical equipment
• System operations for water treatment
• Laboratory techniques and experience with microalgae
