A LITTLE ABOUT US:
The 21st Amendment Brewery is expanding our 120,000 square foot production facility to become a world-class co-packing operation with over six million cases of annual capacity. With the installation of a tunnel pasteurizer later this year, we will have the ability to package all types of beverages from all types of alcohol base to all types of non-alcoholic beverages including NA beer, energy, soda, juice, etc.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a CoPack Services Manager to oversee all aspects of co-pack customer acquisition and ongoing care and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, selling, managing new CoPack business growth and expansion opportunities for 21st Amendment Brewery. They will promote our CoPack services and manufacturing capabilities for alcoholic and specialty non-alcoholic beverages, be the main point of contact for incoming and potential customers, handling incoming inquiries and soliciting new business, and you will shepherd customers through the contract, onboarding and licensing processes to production. Once established, our internal teams will manage production logistics and you will be the customers ongoing relationship manager. This is a remote position, but the successful candidate will be required to travel, as needed for customer recruiting, client visits and brewery visits.
Candidate must have exceptional communication skills, thorough knowledge of all beverage segments with an emphasis on co-pack operations, a complete understanding of our systems and processes, be proactive and solution minded, results oriented, have an understanding of cost structures of raw materials and finished goods, knowledge of financial implications and timeline impacts of project decisions, regulatory and compliance proficiency, and knowledge of industry packaging trends. Customer service skills needed and Strong management experience are critical in landing new clients and negotiating contract agreements.
Responsibilities…What you do day to day.
- Solicit new co-pack customers. This may include travel to beverage industry trade shows, industry events, placing ads in appropriate industry trades, and networking.
- Serve as the main point of contact for existing and new customers, and act as liaison between the customer and the production team on all aspects leading up to the production of the customers product. This may include travel to meet with customers, answering customer inquiries and managing the customers ongoing needs.
- Maintain effective communication throughout and beyond the business development cycle
- Qualify any inbound leads through our screening process and help onboard them as new customers when appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in bid development, CoPack proposals, and contract execution
- Prospect and sell excess packaging capacity to target customers
- Handle customer contract negotiations and pricing, including contracts and Alternating Proprietor agreements.
- Handle customer licensing considerations with state and Federal agencies and compliance for label requirements, etc.
- Assist customer(s) in setting up raw and packaging materials needs including sourcing, artwork, etc.
- Travel to our production facility as needed to meet with clients, tour prospective clients, understand process flow and manage logistics as needed.
Skills & Experience.Who are you are and what you know.
- 2-4 years minimum experience in Supply Chain, Project Management, Production Planning, Purchasing or similar role
- Bachelor's degree (preferred) in business or technical discipline or equivalent of 4+ years of related, professional experience
- Strong motivation and creativity to successfully reach potential clients and initiate conversations
- Beverage co-packing experience ideal, as manufacturer, broker and/or customer
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Knowledge of beverage industry standards of quality, food safety and compliance regulations including FDA, USDA, TTB, NSF, GMP, SQF, ISO22000, Organic, Kosher, Gluten Free, etc.
- Experience in a Key Account or Customer Service Role within a business setting where you are responsible for client success.
- Experience in pricing & contract negotiations
- Proficiency with Microsoft products including Excel, Word, Outlook, databases and order-processing software
- Ability to define analytics for tracking, measuring success, and reporting to management
- Ability to work on multiple customer projects at one time

At 21st Amendment Brewery, compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to: location, skill set, experience, education, training, licensure and certifications, knowledge and abilities of the applicant, alignment with market data, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current salary pay range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000/annual; however, this range may adjust with factors mentioned above.
