Summary
Sharkks Therapy is building a team of highly motivated and positive individuals who all possess different passions in Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy where we look to nurture and support these skills while meeting their goals. Our team is looking for a full-time Physical Therapist who's interest and skill set is preferably in pediatrics. The Physical Therapist is responsible for the proper implementation of evaluations and treatment for all clients. Settings for evaluation and treatment will include clinic, home, and school. Candidates that are best suited for the role need to be organized and able to meet multi-tasking demands. The Physical Therapist must be able to work effectively in a team environment and follow all policies and procedures set forth by Sharkks Therapy. The Physical Therapist will act as an advocate for all clients, their family members, internal staff, physicians, home and or school based staff and community organizations while displaying the highest standards of professionalism.
Essential Duties Of The Physical Therapist
Essential duties include knowledge of the following and other duties as assigned:
● Principles and techniques of physical, occupational and or speech therapy with particular emphasis on physical and psychological problems
● Policies and procedures of Sharkks Therapy
● Principles used in contract review and administration
● Skeletal anatomy and kinesiology
● Basic pathology and neurology of congenital diseases, disabling conditions and injuries relative to the objectives of physical, occupational and speech therapy
● Growth and development of the pediatric through geriatric population
● Physical and psychological problems of physically disabled patients and their families
● Evaluate the effectiveness and applicability of orthopedic and therapeutic appliances, equipment and modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot packs etc.
● Use care and maintenance of orthopedic and therapeutic appliances and equipment. Ability to use various hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches to adjust therapy equipment and devices
● Basic knowledge in the use of general office machine and computer technology
Essential Responsibilities Of The Staff Therapist
Essential responsibilities include the following and other responsibilities as assigned:
● Arriving fifteen (15) minutes prior to your scheduled report time
● Checking your schedule at the end of your day. (If out of the clinic, call the scheduler prior to the start of your day to check for schedule changes.) Notify the scheduler immediately if you make any changes to your schedule
● Checking your personal mailbox for any messages
● Pulling client charts and filing charts away after every treatment always following proper procedures regarding confidentiality as you move about the clinic
● Clean and replace all equipment used after each session
● If a client no shows, the staff therapist is responsible for calling their home fifteen (15) minutes after their scheduled appointment to obtain an explanation and communicating the no show to the scheduler
● Start each session by greeting clients and family members in the waiting room and making sure families sign in
● End each session by giving clients and family members an overview of the session and follow up ideas before dismissing the client
● Teaching and explaining to clients and family members the fundamentals of self-care, rehab and other suitable activities
● Effectively and courteously communicate your findings and expectations of therapy progress and prepare clear and accurate reports in a timely manner. Make necessary calls to report status changes in client progress or to obtain scripts for equipment needs
● Attend internal office meetings every week
● Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and all persons contacted in the course of the work day
● Prior to delivery of service, the staff therapist must review all client files and be aware of the clients needs. The staff therapist must be aware of and understand the goals for treatment per the evaluation and or progress report and be informed of any medications prescribed for the client

Education And Or Experience
The Physical Therapist must must be licensed or license eligible in the state which they are applying
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
The Physical Therapist must have current state licensure and registration from the State of Arizona. The staff therapist must maintain proper licensing and training as indicated on the matrix. The staff Therapist must have current CPR certification and a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card
Language Skill
The physical therapist must possess good working knowledge of the English language to communicate orally with clients, caregivers, caseworkers, physicians and internal staff. Use grammar, spelling and punctuation skills to effectively communicate in writing daily progress notes, reports and all forms of written correspondence. Ability to read, interpret and explain medical terminology. Be comfortable in presenting information orally in group settings. Report all concerns or problem areas to the appropriate manager following the procedures set forth in the Chain of Command by Sharkks Therapy
Reasoning Ability
The physical therapist must possess the ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and determine proper course of action. The staff therapist must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Mathematical Skills
The physical therapist must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the staff therapist, on an intermittent basis, is required to sit at a desk for long periods of time while preparing reports. Intermittently walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, reach and perform simple grasping and fine manipulation while assisting patients in moving to and from treatment areas and in providing treatment and instructional activities

While performing the duties of the job, the staff therapist is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
