Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher

We are a high quality, 4-star, accredited Quality First Christian preschool in Scottsdale, Arizona. Currently we are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher for our play based Two’s program. Our desire is to foster creativity, discovery, social and emotional growth and a genuine love for learning through hands-on, multi-sensory lessons and activities.

The ideal candidate for these positions will possess high standards. We believe that the education and care they provide is invaluable. We are seeking teachers who have demonstrated skill establishing effective relationships with staff, parents, and children.

Pay ranges from $18-19 for Lead Teachers and $17 per hour for Assistant Teachers, with options to work 5 to 7 hours a day, 5 days a week.We follow the Scottsdale and PV school district calendars. This position will begin mid-August. We offer paid vacation, sick days and health insurance for employees.

Lead Teacher Job Description

This position is responsible for leading students toward the fulfillment

of their potential for intellectual, social, physical and spiritual development. The teacher will oversee and conduct the teaching and care of children in their assigned classroom.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

Responsible for the overall teaching and guidance of children in the classroom.

Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in accordance with accepted practices of Early Childhood curriculum.

Performs the daily routines for the classroom including lesson preparation with daily schedule planning, parent consultation, material preparation, children’s attendance and performance records.

Ensures that room is maintained in a neat, organized and safe manner.

Attend regular teacher training and curriculum planning meetings on a monthly basis with the CCPK staff.

Provides guidance and direction to support staff in the classroom whether it be a Teacher’s Aide, Assistant or Co-Teacher, providing input on these staff evaluations.

Promotes the regular exchange of information about children’s progress and the program between staff and parents.

Provides positive guidance to children and actively follows health and safety policies.

Requirements: This position requires an Associate’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree or a Child Development Associate Certificate, and preferably two to three years of child care experience.

Assistant Teacher Job Description

The Assistant Teacher will assist as the Teacher provides direction to the preschool children in their assigned classroom.

The Preschool Teaching Assistant will:

Assist the teacher in determining the needs of the classroom.

Support the classroom teacher as he/she teaches Christian curriculum as planned and provided by the Director.

Help the teacher follow monthly/weekly lesson plans for the class, as scheduled. Be aware of lesson plans in advance, to be prepared to assist as needed.

Attend regular teacher training and curriculum planning meetings on a monthly basis with the Preschool staff.

Communicate with teacher on a regular basis regarding classroom lessons, activities and personal achievement/behavior of the children.

Participate and assist in coordination of enrichment activities and holiday events.

Provides positive guidance to children and actively follows health and safety policies.

Requirements: This position requires a high school diploma plus 12 hours of training or early childhood education classwork, and preferred one year of child care experience.
